New CEO Appointed:
The Foundation has set its direction for the future with the appointment of our new CEO Angela McCabe. Angela replaces Bill Hatton who completed his fixed term contract in July.
Angela is no stranger to the Foundation having started as a volunteer in August 2005 and more recently being employed as Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator from March 2007.
Coming from a background of Senior Management in marketing in the UK and building project management, Angela is well qualified to lead the Foundation in its future fundraising and the Children’s Ward project development into the future.
Angela commenced her new role on the 17th July upon her return from being married in the UK.
Foundation Chairman Arthur Marshall welcomed Angela’s appointment and expressed his confidence in Angela’s ability to maintain the fundraising momentum and provide the administrative directions and controls necessary to run the organization.
Can Can Girls do a Marvelous Job
Directors of the Peel Health Campus Foundation are overwhelmed with the response from coin donation in cans at outlets throughout the Peel Region.
Co-ordinator Angela Myatt, with help from volunteers now have cans at 200 local shops and businesses.
Full cans are changed over weekly, the money counted and banked.
This fundraising source to build a 12 bed Childrens’ Ward at the Peel Health Campus has raised over $19,000 in the last 2 years.
Chairman of the Board, Arthur Marshall said $250,000 is still required by 30th June 2008 to reach the target of $3m in 3 years.

Lucky Ticket Number 4566 Wins Raffle
The Bouvard Patchwork & Quilters Group has raised over $5,000 towards the new pediatric ward at the Peel Health Campus.
Thirty ladies from the group designed and made a quilt over a 12 month period. The group very generously donated the stunning quilt, valued at $2,400, to the Foundation to assist with our fundraising efforts.
Foundation Chairman, Arthur Marshall, congratulated the women at the raffle draw and said it was a prime example of how community groups were able to use their talents to help.
Ticket Number 4566 was drawn & the lucky winner, John Fen, was delighted when Chairman Bill Hatton called to advise on his prize.
John said “Maxine & I wish to thank the Bouvard Patchwork & Quilters group for their generous donation to the fundraising efforts of the Peel Health Campus Foundation for the children’s ward.
We appreciate the many hours of work that the ladies have put into creating this beautiful example of quilting.
We are sure it will be enjoyed by our family for many years and become a family heirloom”.
Only $300,000 to go story……
The Foundation were recently delighted to receive news that a grant of $502,700 had been secured via the Regional Partnerships Program from the Federal Government.
This funding will be used to fit out the new 12 bed dedicated children’s ward at the Peel Health Campus.
Chief Executive Tony Solin said “This important announcement comes at a vital time in our short history and means we have only $300,000 to raise to complete the funding for this project.
Chairman Arthur Marshall said that this contribution allowed the Foundation to see the “light at the end of the tunnel” after 3 years of fundraising.
Everyone at the Foundation extends a big thank you to all donors and supporters of this crucial first project.
