“ALCOA Mandurah Island Challenge - 2013” - 30 March 2013
The foreshore of Mandurah was abuzz with over 1000 Mandurah citizens on Sunday 24th March for the 7th Alcoa Mandurah Island Challenge. The Directors of the Peel Health Foundation welcomed the increased participation for this year’s event which included strong representation from many of Mandurah’s schools. “Peel Health Foundation Community Workshops 2013” - 17 March 2013
The Directors of the Peel Health Foundation recently conducted community workshops in Mandurah, Pinjarra and Waroona areas. Due the recent completion of its latest project – the Peel Mobile Health Clinic, the Directors are now focusing on the next major project. As a health promotion charity all funds raised are aimed to cover unmet health care, acute care and primary health care needs of the Peel region.
The workshops were well attended by local health representatives from the 3 regions which gave Directors valuable insight and knowledge of the local unmet health needs.
An open invitation is extended to local health care organisations and individual members of the community who were not able to attend the workshops to submit a proposal. Interested parties should in the first instance contact the Foundation office on 9534 9340 to register.
“Mobile Health Service is ready to go!” - 10 September 2012
Peel Health Foundation Directors and representatives from the South Metropolitan Area Health Service (SMAHS) and GP Down South gathered at Barbagello Volkswagen Mandurah on Tuesday to formally accept the mobile health service vehicle from dealer principal Tod Perejuan. The vehicle has been fitted out and is fully equipped to support a wide range of services. Read More ...

The Directors of the Peel Health Foundation have elected Mrs Ann Fletcher as Chair after the recent resignation of Mr John Perry. Ann was deputy to John Perry in his three years as Chairman and overall has served on its Board of Directors for nine years. Read More ....
Chief Stepping Down - 12 July 2012 (with acknowledgements to Mandurah Mail)
After eight years in a role he describes as “fulfilling, demanding and interesting”, John Perry has resigned as chairman and director of the Peel Health Foundation.
Mr Perry said he had been thinking of retiring about three months ago but wanted to see the mobile health clinic project come to fruition.
With the launch of the project at the end of June, the fellow directors of the Foundation accepted his resignation with “great regret”.
Mr Perry was instrumental in establishing the Foundation in 2004 alongside former chairman Arthur Marshall and Ann Fletcher – who has replaced Mr Perry as chair. Read More ...
Mobile Health Service for Isolated Peel Areas - 22 June 2012
Health Minister Kim Hames today launched an innovative, mobile health service that will prevent people from the more isolated areas of the Peel region from having to travel for health advice and treatment.
The Peel Mobile Health Service, a modified vehicle capable of operating at a range of locations - including sites without water, will provide health and health promotion services to the communities of Pinjarra, Waroona, Boddington, Serpentine and Jarrahdale.
It is a joint initiative between WA Health, the Peel Health Foundation and GP down south – a general practice network in the Peel and South West Regions of Western Australia. Read More ...
Rotarians United in New Health Initiative - 21 June 2012
Business leaders from four local Rotary Clubs have joined forces in support of the Peel Health Foundation. On the 22 June 2012, the Hon Dr Kim Hames, MLA, Deputy Premier, Minister for Health; Tourism will launch a new mobile health service to operate in the more rural areas of the Peel region. Peel Health Foundation has had the challenge to raise in excess of $250,000 a fund raising campaign that got underway just 12 months ago. Read More ...
Peel Health Foundation Health Awareness Week – 11-15 June 2012
The Peel Health Foundation, whose primary objective is to promote the prevention and control of Diseases in human beings in the Peel Region, launched its Awareness Week at Mandurah Centro with a display of its latest project - a mobile health service. The Community Liaison Manager for the Foundation Bev Brennan said “the display gives the Mandurah Peel Community the opportunity to understand what the Peel Health Foundation stands for, and its role within the Peel community”.

Boost for Mobile Health Service - 23 May 2012 (reproduced from Mandurah Coastal Times)
Peel Health Foundation’s Mobile Health Service received a boost, with a donation of $25,000 from the Halls Head and Pinjarra branches of the Bendigo Bank.
It was a collaborative effort of the Bank’s Halls Head Branch Chair David Waddell and Pinjarra Branch Chair Rose Reynolds. Mr Waddell said the service would benefit the communities in the wider Peel region.
The health unit covers women and children’s services, elder mental health, chronic disease services, dental care, medical services and aged care.
This unit benefits residents of Pinjarra, Boddington, Waroona, Dwellingup, Serpentine and Jarrahdale.
Nattering Knitters - 18 August 2011
Mandurah’s Nattering Knitters are once again supporting the Peel Health Foundation with a donation of $800 towards the Foundation’s new project - a mobile health service. The mobile health service will assist Peel residents who live in the outer regions of the Peel District. Read more ...
Press Release – Launch of New Project – 22 July 2011
At a launch today (22 July 2011) the Hon Dr Kim Hames, Deputy Premier, Minister for Health, Tourism said “that a much needed new health service would soon become a reality for the region”. The Minister congratulated the Peel Health Foundation for its ongoing commitment to improving health care facilities in the Peel Region.
The Peel Health Foundation, after broad consultation with the local communities and health service providers, agreed to fundraise for this exciting new initiative. The mobile health service has been endorsed by Ms Nicole Feely, CEO of the South Metropolitan Area Health Service. Read more ....
